Williamsburg Dental has been proudly serving the Delaware County and Philadelphia suburbs for more than 30 years, providing the best of today’s dentistry in a compassionate and caring environment. We’re continuously updating our knowledge and skills so we can offer you the latest dental procedures and treatments while striving to make you feel like you’re our special guest, with your comfort and satisfaction our top priorities.
General/Preventative Dental Care
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Routine dental cleanings and dental exams are recommended every six months for most people so we can remove plaque and tartar buildups. Your dentist will also talk to you about any concerns or problems you may have. Diagnostic dental x-rays or digital imaging can identify early problems that might lead to more serious conditions like heart disease. Digital imaging x-rays emit up to 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays and provide optimal detection.
The widespread use of fluoride has been one of the greatest breakthroughs in preventative dentistry in the last 50 years. Professional fluoride treatments, especially in younger or older patients, can really help to protect your teeth. The preparation in our fluoride treatments is a stronger concentration than that found in toothpaste or over-the-counter rinses.
When we speak of “dental health” we’re not just talking about your teeth. Your gum health should not be ignored. Gum and periodontal disease are among the leading causes of tooth decay and even tooth loss. A specialized periodontal assessment process included in your dental exam helps ensure the health of your teeth and gums.
New fillings may be needed for dental decay, to replace a filling that’s fallen out or has cracked, or to perhaps re-build teeth worn from nail biting or tooth grinding. We can restore your metal fillings with natural- looking, composite resin material that can even strengthen your tooth. Maybe you’ve fractured a tooth below the gum line, have severe decay, crowding, or even an impacted tooth. While we’ll try hard to save your tooth, sometimes basic extractions are needed for injured or damaged teeth that just can’t be saved.
Tired of dealing with unwanted lingering numbness after a routine dental procedure involving a local anesthetic? Ask your dentist about OraVerse®, a safe way or reversing the numbness than can temporarily affect your speech and smile.
Other General Dental Services and Procedures
Sealants are a key step in the plan to keep your children cavity-free. Plaque, a nearly invisible film of bacteria, collects in the grooves of your back chewing teeth, which causes cavities. A dental sealant is a clear application placed on top of those chewing teeth to “seal out” food and plaque.
We offer expertise in fitting and fabricating full or partial dentures whether by using existing bone and tissue to support partial dentures with metal clasps to solidly hold denture in place, or via dental implants using titanium posts placed into the jaw that the denture can “snap on to”.
Teeth grinding can really disrupt your sleep. Sleep or night mouthguards are horseshoe-shaped, nearly invisible, plastic appliances that can be custom-made to help relieve TMJ symptoms associated with stress and anxiety. And – speaking of stress – we know that some of our patients suffer from such debilitating dental anxiety that they may not be seeking the care they desperately need. With oral sedation dentistry, fearful patients can accomplish their dental procedures in a safe, sleep-like state with no fear or anxiety.
Playing a sport and need to protect your teeth? Athletic mouthguards are recommended for anybody (children and adults!) who plays sports. Our AgilityGuard™ mouthguards are custom-made and can even fit over braces.
