Mouth Healthy Kids
It’s back-to-school month, which means summer leisure is over and it’s time to go back to regular daily routines, like brushing teeth before school. Are you having trouble making brushing and flossing more fun for your kids? Want to help them better understand the importance of good oral care?
Williamsburg Dental suggests you check out the American Dental Association’s Mouth Healthy Kids website. Here, you’ll find fun dental games, quizzes, videos and activity sheets for young children and pre-teens.
“Visit the Dentist with Marty” shows children what to expect on their first dental visit. Kids can “Defeat Monster Mouth” by playing connect-the-dots, doing a word search or coloring. They can watch Sesame Street characters Elmo and Abby Cadabby crunch on healthy snacks and sing about the benefits of eating healthy foods. And there’s also Dudley, the nine-year-old dinosaur, to offer more tips.
If getting your kids to brush isn’t a problem, but getting them in for checkups is proving more challenging, don’t stress out! Williamsburg Dental offers convenient after-school and evening hours. From October through May we even provide Saturday morning appointments. It’s all part of our effort to accommodate busy family schedules!
