In December 2021, Williamsburg Dental welcomed Jarred E. Gettes, DMD, as a new associate, joining Drs. Joseph J. Capista, Robert J. Spennato and Daniel P. Tibbetts.
A native of Philadelphia, Dr. Jarred E. Gettes graduated from Father Judge High School in 2011. After obtaining his B.S. in biology from Temple University, he moved onto Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry in 2016. While at Kornberg, Dr. Gettes was awarded a scholarship in recognition of his academic performance and participated in several clubs such as Xi Psi Phi, Alpha Omega, ASDA, and as a student ambassador. Upon graduating, Dr. Gettes was awarded the International College of Dentists Humanitarian Award in recognition of his charitable efforts. He graduated, earning his D.M.D with Magna Cum Laude honors in May of 2020.
Dr. Gettes found himself on a different coast for his post graduate training residency; at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. There, he furthered his knowledge and skills in all aspects of dentistry and focused on treating medically complex patients. He spent 6 months working at the greater Los Angeles VA hospital, serving our nations veterans and active service members. After his residency, he ultimately decided he couldn’t give up Philly sports and found himself back on the East Coast.
In addition to being an active member of the ADA (American Dental Association), Dr. Gettes is Invisalign certified. He has also spent a significant amount of time participating in charitable organizations such as Pennsylvania’s Mission of Mercy and Jamaica’s Great Shapes/1000 smiles, both programs dedicated to providing free dental care to underserved populations.
Dr. Gettes currently lives in Philadelphia, PA. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, trying new restaurants, cooking, golfing, going to the beach, swimming, traveling, and rooting on Philly sports teams. Dr. Gettes is known for his thoughtful and warm personality, sense of humor, and providing comprehensive and quality care to all of his patients.
