Dr. Alexa N. Spennato officially joined Williamsburg Dental in August 2022. As the oldest daughter of Dr. Robert J. Spennato, she was exposed to the dental profession at a young age, regularly visiting the office throughout her childhood, teenage, and adult years. During her senior year of college, Dr. Alexa ultimately decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Alexa graduated from Garnet Valley High School in 2012, where she was an accomplished athlete and a distinguished honor roll student. After completing her bachelor’s degree at the University of Delaware, she attended dental school at her father’s alma mater, Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. Dr. Alexa graduated from Temple Summa Cum Laude, in the top 5% of her class. She was also awarded the Dean’s Award for Exemplary Care for Patients, the Delaware Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Society Implantology Award, the Philadelphia Dental Society Award – given to the most outstanding student of the graduating class.
After graduation, Dr. Alexa completed a General Practice Residency at Lebanon VA Medical Center. During this year-long residency, she received advanced training in areas including the placement of dental implants, restorative dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, oral surgery and endodontics. At Williamsburg Dental Dr. Alexa is providing cosmetic, implant, reconstructive dentistry as well as clear aligner therapy. Before joining Williamsburg Dental Dr. Alexa was working as an associate dentist in private practices in Connecticut and New York. She currently remains in NY half of the week with her fiancé, Conor, while he completes his residency training in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. They are looking forward to becoming full time PA residents in the Spring of 2024.
A self-proclaimed food enthusiast, Dr. Alexa enjoys cooking and loves to explore new restaurants and recipes. On the weekends, she enjoys visiting the Jersey Shore, practicing her golf swing, hosting barbecues for her friends and family, and planning for her upcoming wedding! Dr. Alexa is surrounded by dental professionals in both her personal and professional life and is constantly being enriched by her peers. She and Dr. Jarred E. Gettes, our other associate dentist at Williamsburg Dental, were classmates at Temple and are close friends. Dr. Alexa’s skill, attention to detail, and warm personality are just a few of the qualities that make her an exceptional dentist!
