A native of Springfield, Pennsylvania, Dr. Spennato graduated from Springfield High School in 1981. After high school, he earned his B.S. in biology from Ursinus College. Upon receiving his D.M.D. from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1989, Dr. Spennato completed his post-graduate training at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Spennato is a recognized and respected authority in the field of cosmetic/aesthetic dentistry. He completed advanced training at the renowned Las Vegas Institute (LVI) for Advanced Dental Studies. His level of cosmetic training at LVI puts him in the top tier of cosmetic dentists in the country. He has also trained other area dentists on the latest techniques in cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Spennato is part of a handful of dentists in the region who are certified to perform dentistry with both oral conscious sedation and intravenous (IV) sedation. Dr. Spennato received specialized training and certification for sedation dentistry from the highly regarded Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS). He has performed hundreds of smile makeovers, including Philadelphia‘s own Pat Croce, best selling author and former owner of the 76ers; Philadelphia morning radio talk show host, Chris Stigall; Philadelphia Flyers legend Brian Propp, and Anthony Gargano, Philadelphia sports radio celebrity.
Dr. Spennato has been successfully restoring dental implants for over 25 years. As part of his commitment to improving his patients’ comprehensive care, he has had extensive training and has been successfully placing implants for the past eight years.
Dr. Spennato is a lifelong student. In addition to his commitment to continuing education, he is also an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Pennsylvania Dental Association, (PDA), the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the Delaware/Chester County Dental Society.
Since 2014, he has been recognized multiple times as a top general and cosmetic dentist by Main Line Today Magazine and Philadelphia Magazine, most recently in 2022 and 2023.
His passion for dentistry has reached new levels. As the senior member and managing partner of Williamsburg Dental, Dr. Spennato is really enjoying mentoring (and learning from) the other dentists in the practice including his partner, Dr. Daniel Tibbetts, Dr. Jarred Gettes, and his daughter, Dr. Alexa Spennato.
In addition to his love for creating beautiful, healthy smiles, Dr. Spennato also enjoys spending time away from the office with his family – especially at the Jersey shore – and is happiest with a fishing pole in his hand!
